creative direction

This animated short aims to communicate the endless possibilities that our creativity and imagination can achieve. I used origami as the basis for the stop-motion animation because the art of paper-folding was one of the first things I learned as a child. The organic and tangible nature of producing animals, plants, and shapes by folding pieces of paper appealed to my aesthetic of simplicity. At a young age, I remember being excited and in awe that I could create a whole zoo of origami animals all on my own; there was something empowering and wonderful about that. Not only does our imagination take us places, it leaves tracks in our memories, building the foundation for creativity and wisdom.
