The Tinman's Heart - a documentary short

Undergraduate Project / Chicago, IL / Fall 2006

A documentary short profiling Leroy, a.k.a Chicago's Tinman. As a tireless street performer, Leroy has entertained tourists and locals on Michigan Avenue for years. He is a man with big dreams and hopes, and with a manager (who would have thought?) on board, he is passionate about entertaining the world. This is simply the story of one hard-working man looking to delight and to bring a smile to people's faces. (Created in collaboration with Divya Pathak).

"I do it as a form of looking at the expressions on people's faces, see what they get out of it... because a lot of people go through a lot of stuff, and they need something to relieve themselves. But then that performer comes along and it's like their mind is like five minutes off of their problems. And that's what makes a big purpose."
